Welcome to the 2015-16 School Year

August 11, 2015

Dear Meadowview Parent(s) and Student(s):

It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I take this opportunity to welcome you our new and returning families to what I hope will be a phenomenal 2015-16 school year at Meadowview School!

As your new Principal with over twenty years of educational experience; nine years as a classroom teacher and ten plus years as a Principal in the Chicago Public Schools, I am ecstatic about the many possibilities and opportunities that await us in the days, weeks and months to come at Meadowview.  It is my mission to make Meadowview a premier Intermediate School in the South Suburbs that is student centered and focused; partnered with parents and professionally trained teachers working collaboratively in a welcoming and nurturing environment conducive for teaching and learning.   When teaching and learning are highly respected and cultivated, teachers will be able to provide and deliver a challenging curriculum that not only incorporates a level of rigor that will increase student achievement, but will also address the needs of every individual child and their diverse learning styles and needs. So, please join us on this educational journey.  Together, we can do great things on behalf of the children of Meadowview!

School begins Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at 8:00 a.mStudents will be in attendance from 8:00 – 11:15 a.m. on the first day.  Breakfast will be served from 7:30-7:45 a.m.  Interested students should enter through Door #3.  Students arriving in cars must be dropped off at Door #1, which is the Main entrance and is located in front of the school. Door #3 is for buses only. Students should also be in uniforms on the first day of school-navy bottoms and light blue Polo shirt. Not only that, but students should have their school supplies and be prepared for a half day of instruction as well.

On Tuesday, August 18, at 5 p.m. we will host Parent Orientation for all 4th grade parents and families new to Meadowview School.  This will be an opportunity for you to meet the administration and faculty members of Meadowview; tour the school and learn about the District’s policies as well as the new and exciting programs and opportunities that will be offered to your child here at Meadowview.

Should you have any questions and or concerns, please feel free to contact us at 708 957-6220.

Looking forward to a great year!
